The Klongchan Credit Union Cooperative (KCUC) has tried to distance itself from a new land purchase deal scandal in which tycoon Anant Asavabhokin has been summonsed for questioning. The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) summonsed Mr Anant over alleged money laundering in connection with the KCUC embezzlement case. Of the 312 rai land, 46 rai was owned by Mr Anant, who serves as chairman of Land & Houses Plc, according to the same statement. The KCUC later exercised its right to file a civil suit demanding the 321.4 million baht already paid in the land purchase agreement be returned to the KCUC, the statement said. The KCUC has therefore no longer been involved with M-Home SPV 2 Co or Mr Anant since, the statement said.
